Devils Tower, located in eastern Wyoming, emerges out of nowhere! Geologists agree Devils Tower contains molten rock. How it was formed is a an ongoing subject of debate.
As one can imagine, climbing this mountain is a rock climbers dream. Looking up from the bottom of it, no thanks! Some of you may recognize this site from Steven Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
We didn't stay in this area but it was well worth stopping by! For those of you tracking our progress, this post is out of order. We visited Devils Tower right after the Black Hills. Who looses a destination? It happens!
